Why Should I Umpire with USSSA?
Do you Love Softball?? Do you want to stay in the game?? Are you enthusiastic, energetic motivated and driven to succeed, and want to be the best?? Do you have what it takes to not only make the call, but get ir right? For those individuals interested in umpiring, USSSA offer a great opportunity to be involved in the game of softball, supported by a strong local, regional and national organization. Guided by both national and regional clinics, and their local organizations, new and veteran umpires are constantly learning and refining their games in the areas of field mechanics, positioning, rule interpretation and game control strategies in order to provide the best officiating possible for our tournament teams.
Registered USSSA umpires are selected to umpire local, state, regional and national tournaments throughout the season. Due to the completion, these tournaments provide umpires the opportunity to see and experience softball at much different levels than what is seen locally at the league level. The Great Plain Sport Production (USSSA) encourages all of their umpires to strive to become tournament level officials.
